Abby Ferguson made her dream come true when she opened Etie’s, A Children’s Shoppe in 2018. Her budding business in Sulphur, La. was located in the very building where her great-grandparents, Charles and Cora Etie, opened a general store in the 1920s. Today, Abby sells clothing and accessories for children from preemies to youth XL, toys and games, and books.

When heading north on hwy 27 just before the hwy 90 intersection you will see Etie’s. They have a huge sign painted on the side of the building.

The old 1920s building has great charm. It brings to mind movies like the Christmas Story when the family is window shopping. Etie’s has large glass display windows right in front. There they display all the outfits of the current season.

They have plenty of parking on the side of the building making it easy to access the store.

Etie’s carries an array of children’s clothes and toys. All while providing an atmosphere and shopping experience that has gone by the wayside.

The readers of the American Press chose Etie’s as the best children's store in 2022.

Did I mention the books? In today's digital age a good book is hard to find. I especially like the Good Luck Fishermen book. I love books with hard pages, especially for young children. We always have a book with a torn page due to the curiosity of little readers.
