Mom of 8 Travel Secret

I am a busy mom. I have 8 kids, 8 very active kids. We spend many hours traveling for many different events. Over the years we have had to get very creative on how we travel. Most people travel for vacation. We travel for business, vacation, and kids. During the summer months we stay on the road. We bounce from RV park to RV park hotel to hotel. This year has been our busiest yet.

We don't just travel by car or plane. We travel a lot via RV (recreational vehicle). With a large family this is the most cost effective way to travel. For example one year we pulled the RV from Louisiana to Florida (750 miles). At the time we only had 4 kids but we still went to

Disney for $3,500. Here is a run down of our expenses.

1. Fuel total of (1470 miles) $525

2. Park Tickets $1300

3. RV spots $320

5. Food $500 (Brought in RV)

6. Other food and entertainment $900

However, non of these expenses contain the cost of the RV. It is hard to figure the cost of the RV into a 7 day trip like this one. On of the biggest reasons it is hard to find the true cost for the RV is because we use RV share. RV share allows us to rent the RV on our terms and schedule. RV Share gives us the freedom to choose when, where, and who we want to rent too.

RV Share is also great for the renter. Many people grapple with the notion of purchasing an RV. Many people can't afford and RV but know that and RV would be cost effective for trips and fun. People understand the RV gives you a level of freedom you can not find in air travel. With inflation rising RV Share is becoming more and more an option for people.

The Math

The math to use a travel trailer vs RV Share works out below. The information below is an estimate base on 4 trips per year. Some items will vary. We also left off the cost of the tow vehicle. If you have to purchase a tow vehicle to tow your RV that could drastically affect your cost of owning an RV.

Travel Now Pay Later

The dread of summer travel especially when you have athletes, is the cost. One tournament leads to another and you find yourself like Johnny Cash bouncing from one hotel to the next. Traveling from city to city. When we do have to get hotels or travel by plane. We have found this one hack to be our best option. The site below is called one travel. One Travel not only finds us the best travel options it allows us to pay over time.

When we get to the point that the budget is tapped One Travel opens the door to worry free travel. The biggest factor in travel is the up front cost. Everyone loves to travel. We as a species are currently trying to travel off planet. Travel in part of our nature. But just like our space program the biggest factor is cost. One Travel allows this cost to be spread over time and taking the worry of cost out of the picture.

Conclusion

These are my two main hacks or tips when traveling with 8 kids or a large family. I hope you find these sites useful. I also hope you enjoy your adventures you will take and the memories you will make.
