Morning School Routine Mom of 8
Mornings can be a challenge for anyone with kids but especially families with several kids. Everyone is not a morning person. Sometimes you have to drag them out of bed. Between breakfast, lunches, finding school clothes, brushing teeth and fixing hair time is of the essence. I have several mom hacks to help you stay on target and get everyone out the door on time and still keep your sanity.
PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE
School Clothes
Night time is the perfect time to prepare school clothes for the next day. It is never fun to be searching the house for a lost belt or missing shoe 5 mins before you have to leave. That usually doesn't end well and not a great way to start you or your little one's day. Get them to help gather what they need for the next morning before laying down for bed. This also teaches responsibility. I have attached some of our favorite easy to dress school clothes here. (Belt, shorts)
Lunch Boxes
If your kids are anything like mine they prefer a lunch from home rather than the school cafeteria. The night before, have them help fix what they are bringing for lunch the next day. This way they have something they like for lunch. Having a good lunch helps with concentration at school which leads to better learning.
Breakfast
The night before see what you have in the pantry or refrigerator for breakfast. Have a plan on what will be fixed in the morning. That way if you need to set the alarm for a few minutes earlier you will be prepared.
Hygiene
For smaller children they will need some help but if you are prepared then it will be a smooth process. Have the hairbrush or comb within reach. If needed, have a small squirt bottle of water for them to wet their hair. Keep toothbrushes and toothpaste where they can see them and reach them. It is so important to teach good hygiene at a young age.
It may take a few nights but over time these routines will be completed in no time. Your mornings will be less chaotic and happier!!
