Kona Ice is the main player in the shaved ice business but there is completion brewing. Tikiz Shaved Ice and Ice cream is spreading it's wings across the country. They are growing at an rapid rate. Many customers have compared the Kona Ice flavors to the Tikiz Flavors. Many customers say the Kona leaves a funny after taste. They also state that the shaved ice it's self is not as soft and fluffy as the Tikiz. To see if there is a Tikiz Shaved Ice truck in you area visit www.tikiz.com
Tikiz Could Be Your Next Source of Income.
Have you ever seen the Kona Ice truck in action. Usually they visit schools. Almost every child at the school buys a shaved ice. That is a tremendous amount of business. The average Kona truck do as much business in a few hours and a traditional shaved ice stand can do in a week. Lets do the math on just one school. If 500 kids buy a 4 dollar shaved ice, that is 2000 dollars at that event. If they book 5 events a week that is 10,000 per week. Not bad for driving and ice cream truck.
But there is a problem. Sold Out!!
That's correct Kona has hardly any territories left to sell. Most of them are right next to another owner. Kona territories are small compared to Tikiz. Kona territory is only 150,000 population base while Tikiz is 200,000 population based. 50,000 population difference is a entire town. Could you imagine paying the same basic price for a Kona truck and have 50,000 less people to potential sell to. Tikiz is a bright colorful truck while Kona started with blue truck and now they are moving to a purple truck. Not sure why they pick colors associated with sadness and depression. Tikiz is bright and fun. Tikiz also has an available coffee option.
There is another major Issue with Kona
They have sued so many people. Yes google the information. Kona Ice has sued many people for many things. They are suing people basically calming they have a patent on the flavor delivery system. If this holds true they should also sue every restaurant in the world that serves drinks. The severing system is basically a jug gravity feeding a spout outside the truck. Who know you could patent a jug, hose, and spicket. In any rate they are suing individuals not companies. This idea of Kona Ice suing individuals seems to be counter productive to their mission. If helping the community is the goal why sue the community over a jug and hose.
