However, before you visit any dealership you should always be prepared. Most dealerships spend thousands training their employees in customer service but mainly they are trained how to get in your pocket book. If you are looking to buy a car before you do anything else I recommend going to Vroom.

However, they start by just shopping for cars. I am going to provide you with the steps to getting the best deal. The sales guy and the manager are trained. They have done their research have you? Step 1

Go to Vroom. In vroom you can get an offer for your trade. You need a real offer. What do I mean, sometimes a dealer will make it look like they are giving you more by moving discounts from the car you are buying and placing them on the trade. This is the most common practice to show people more for their trade. People get emotionally attached to their trade. This is a big mistake. You have to watch the trade difference. Step 1 you must go to vroom.

Step 2

If you do not have cash you need to have a solid financial plan before you step on the lot. The finance department is the most profitable area in the dealership. They are marking up the price on the interest rate, the price of the extended warranty and other products you do not need. Never buy the life insurance or disability insurance. Their are other alternatives to these over priced products. Vroom also has a finance page. You can apply in minutes, get fast approval, with highly competitive rates. I also recommend seeking out other forms of financing ever before stepping on a dealership property. (NOTE) Insurance is key. If the car fits in all your key areas and you found the best deal on the car but the insurance is out to the budget you did not get the best deal.

Step 3

Don't test drive. No matter how nice you think your car is an new car is always better. It may have the latest technology that your car does not have. Sometimes it is that one option that you wish you had on your car which could cost you thousands. Test driving is the easiest way to become emotionally attached to a vehicle. The smell, the quietness, no dirt, and many other things attack your sense of logic. Do not test drive until you have a interest rate, a price on the car you are buying, the price of your trade, and trade difference. Once you have all these leave.

Step 4

It is service more than the sale that is the most important. You can not see it during the sale but if the service after the sale is bad than your new car could end up being a bad deal. Here are some recent reviews for Bolton Ford

Garrett Puckett I purchased a 2020 F350 in Oct. and had some manufacturer issues that Bolton Ford was going to fix. Started the process in Nov. and got an appointment to service the vehicle on June 2nd! On the first initial oil change in April, the dealership Bolton Ford in Lake Charles, La, performed an oil change and tire rotation. I received the truck back with grease on my chrome rims and grease marks on the body. I took it home to clean it and discovered deep scratch marks on two of my rims. Needless to say, I was not happy, and after a disagreement at the dealership where I was treated with horrible customer service and have been for months prior, I decided to have work done at another dealership.

I brought my truck to Mike Willis Ford in Sulphur, La. In one day, Mike Willis' service department completed an inspection of the truck and got approval from Ford to replace all the issues except for one. The center console lid had some imperfections in the leather and was going to be replaced at the Bolton Ford dealership with no issues. But for some reason, the service manager at Mike Willis advised that FORD warranty denied the claim stating it was not a manufacturer defect. I contacted Ford customer care and explained the situation I was dealing with and how unhappy I was with their service after spending a lot of money on a truck. The best they could do was to offer me financial assistance in getting the console replaced! Basically saying, they did not believe the imperfection was caused by the manufacturer and that I had to pay for the part!

I am not one to post my problems on social media. However, after spending a lot of money on this vehicle and it having manufacturer issues that FORD will not fix, on top of the poor service I have received from Bolton Ford, I will continue to post to social media platforms until this is properly resolved.
